Mount Marty College senior guard Chris King of Des Moines has been named to the NAIA All-American Third Team. It’s the first time in 15 years a Lancer men’s basketball player has received that high of a national honor. King averaged 21 points and 35 minutes per game, and he led the Lancers with 47 steals and was second with 79 assists. King shot 41 percent from three-point range and set a Mount Marty men’s record with 100 three-point baskets.
University of South Dakota senior guard Ciara (keer-uh) Duffy of Rapid City has received A-P Honorable Mention All-American status in women’s basketball. Duffy becomes the first Coyote basketball player to garner any All-American recognition since the move to Division One, and the first Summit League athlete getting that honor in the past five years. Duffy led the 11th-ranked Coyotes by averaging nearly 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists per game.
