KYNT Local Sports for 3-18-20

A record-setting season by the University of South Dakota women’s basketball team ended with an 11th place finish in the final USA Today Coaches poll and a 17th place ranking in the last A-P Women’s Basketball poll.  The Coyotes ended up with a 30 and 2 season record with 19 consecutive victories to finish the season.

The South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame banquet and induction ceremony scheduled for April 25th in Sioux Falls has been cancelled.  People who have already purchased tickets for the banquet are eligible for refunds.  The ten individuals scheduled for induction this year will be honored at next year’s 2021 South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame banquet.

The South Dakota High School Basketball Hall of Fame banquet and induction ceremony scheduled for March 28th in Sioux Falls has been cancelled.  Among the inductees is Sarah Mannes Homstad of Yankton, and she and the other people to be honored will be inducted at the next ceremony and banquet on March 27th, 2021

The South Dakota Football Coaches Association annual clinic has been postponed this weekend in Vermillion, but there are sessions on-line to provide learning for coaches around the region.  There will be clinics on-line at various points on Friday and Saturday involving over 45 football coaches from across the country.
