Registrations are underway for the 2020 River Rat Marathon set for the morning of April 25th at Yankton’s Riverside Park.
Organizer Bruce Schild says this year’s events include the return of a non-competitive bike ride to Lake Yankton and back.
The River Rat draws more than two hundred fifty participants annually and Schild says for first time visitors to the area, the scenic beauty of the Missouri River is quite a surprise.
Schild says the River Rat Marathon benefits the Yankton High School track team, local Science Olympiad teams, The Center and the Rich Schild scholarship fund.
Schild says over its ten year history, the River Rat Marathon has donated more than sixty thousand dollars to local organizations. Registrations are available online at riveratmarathon.com.
