The Yankton City Commission has approved a change order for just under four hundred seventy thousand dollars for the Huether Family Aquatic Center that includes a concrete parking lot and other items that had been considered earlier in the projects’ design process.
City Manager Amy Leon says the low bid award for the project allows for adding items such as a rock climbing wall back into the facility’s design.
Leon says the most expensive addition is replacing the planned asphalt parking lot with more durable concrete.
Leon says while she doubts there will be any more additions to the project, as work progresses more change orders are a possibility.
The bid for the project was awarded to Welfl Construction for just under ten million, three hundred eighty seven thousand dollars.
