With strong numbers from 2019 in both housing and commercial building permits, what is on the horizon for the Yankton community in 2020?
City Manager Amy Leon says throughout her time here the city has shown strong building numbers.
Leon says continued progress with quality of life type projects may attract more residents to Yankton and help boost the number of new housing starts.
Leon says another reason for growth has been the Yankton City Commission’s willingness to work with commercial developers through various types of incentives.
During 2019, Yankton saw a number of significant commercial building projects permitted including the Huether Family Aquatic Center, the new Mount Marty Fieldhouse and the Yankton Mall façade remodel.
