FEMA Disaster Recovery Center Open

A FEMA disaster recovery center has been re-opened in Yankton to assist individuals and businesses impacted by the severe storms and flooding that occurred from September 9th through the 26th of this year.

After a person has registered with the agency, FEMA Public Information Officer Nate Custer says documenting the damage that they experienced is a key part of the recovery process.

Custer says residents of any of the eleven counties included in this disaster declaration can access services at the recovery center set up in Yankton.

The FEMA disaster recovery center is located at the Yankton County Emergency Management Building at 807 Capitol Street in Yankton with hours from 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Saturday.
