The apparent omission of paperwork pertaining to at least one of the building or conditional use permits that were subject to stop work orders following a special meeting of the Yankton County Planning Commission last Friday has one commissioner calling for a special meeting to reconsider the board’s action.
Planning Commissioner Greg Hansen says the information binder that was supplied to the commission prior to the special meeting was put together on short notice and at least one letter pertaining to the matter was left out.
Hansen says along with the large financial interest in the building permits the applicants have, there is also a high level of public interest in the issue.
Planning Commissioner Kristie Schultz says States Attorney Rob Klimisch needs to be consulted on how to proceed with the matter and on what date a special meeting should be scheduled.
The applicants for the permits subject to the planning commission’s stop orders were: Josh Johnson, Jay Cutts, Karl Schenk and John Gunderson.
