South Dakota celebrated Dakota Days in style with a 38-0 rout over Indiana State Saturday in the Dome.  Quarterback Austin Simmons had 348 total yards passing and rushing for the Coyotes, accounted for a total of four touchdowns, and was named the Missouri Valley Offensive Player of the Week.  USD is now 2 and 3 with a game at Missouri State next Saturday.

Third-ranked South Dakota State rolled to a 28-10 Hobo Days victory over Southern Illinois on Saturday.  Pierre Strong, Jr. rushed for 229 yards and a touchdown to lead the Jacks.  SDSU is now 4 and 1 overall with a game at Youngstown State coming up next Saturday.

The USD volleyball squad rallied to win 3-2 at last year’s regular season champion Denver yesterday, winning the deciding game 15-13.  Madison Jurgens paced the Coyotes with 30 assists and 11 digs.  USD is 15 and 1 overall with a match at South Dakota State on Tuesday.

North Dakota State edged USD 2-1 in women’s soccer yesterday in Fargo.  The Coyotes are 5 and 8 overall and will have a Summit League match next Sunday at Fort Wayne.

Concordia University swept a G-PAC soccer match over Mount Marty on Saturday.  The Bulldogs took the women’s game 3-0 and beat the Lancers 2-0 in the men’s contest.  Mount Marty will play a doubleheader at Jamestown on Wednesday.

Yankton defeated Huron 8-0 in girls soccer on Saturday, clinching the top-seed in Class Double-A and another ESD Conference title.  The Gazelles are 11-0-2 this season and will host Sioux Falls Washington in playoffs Tuesday at 7 in Yankton.

Huron topped Yankton 3-1 in boys soccer on Saturday.  The Bucks ended at 6-6-1 for the season and will play at fifth-seed Spearfish on Tuesday at 6 p-m Central.

The Class AA boys golf tournament begins today at Hillcrest Country Club in Yankton.  The Class A boys golf state tourney will be at The Bluffs in Vermillion.  The Class A girls tennis state tournament starts today in Sioux Falls.
