After a long trip west, Sturgis scored on a fourth-down 42-yard pass play with 20 seconds remaining and upset the Yankton Bucks 18-13 last night.  Yankton had taken the lead on a four-yard run by Owen Warren with two minutes to play before the Sturgis heroics at the end.  The Bucks also scored on a Reggie Bruder touchdown catch from Cooper Cornemann in the second quarter.  Yankton is now 2 and 4 on the season with a home game next Friday against the Huron Tigers.

Yankton won two of four games at the State Softball Tournament Friday in Sioux Falls.  The Gazelles topped Brookings 9-6, then lost 8-0 against top-seed Lincoln, rolled past Watertown 10-4 and then were no-hit 8-0 by Brandon Valley.  Yankton finished 11 and 16 for the softball season.

The Yankton soccer teams finish their regular season today with a doubleheader at Huron.  The undefeated Gazelles are top-ranked in the state, and the Bucks have moved up to eleventh in the state with a three-game winning streak.

The University of South Dakota volleyball team edged Omaha 3-2 last night in Vermillion.  Sami Slaughter led the Coyotes with 19 kills as they won their 11th consecutive match.  U-S-D is 14 and 1 overall and plays at Denver on Sunday.

The U-S-D football team hopes to celebrate Dakota Days Homecoming with a victory today.  The Coyotes host Indiana State at 2:00 today in the Dome.

The third-ranked South Dakota State Jackrabbits have a Hobo Days game at 2:00 today in Brookings against Southern Illinois.

The Mount Marty soccer teams have a doubleheader at Concordia University this afternoon, and the Lancer cross-country runners will compete at the Briar Cliff Invitational today.
