York College hit 50 percent of their three-point shots and defeated Mount Marty 80-70 last night in men’s basketball at the Cimpl Arena.  Senior Colby Johnson led the Lancers with 24 points as their record dropped now stands at 2 and 1 on the season.  Mount Marty will face Presentation and Dakota State Saturday and Sunday in doubleheaders for the NAIA Classic at the Pentagon in Sioux Falls.

The Mount Marty volleyball team picked up their first win in six weeks with a 3-1 victory at Presentation College last night.  Junior Elizabeth Watchorn of Ponca led the Lancers with 19 kills and 14 digs, while freshman Amber Miller had 46 assists.  Mount Marty is 8 and 21 overall with a G-PAC match at Morningside on Friday.

The regular season ends this afternoon for Mount Marty College soccer with a pair of games at Briar Cliff.  The Lancer men are eighth place in the G-PAC standings while the Mount Marty women are eleventh in the conference.

USD senior Anne Rasmussen has been named the Summit League Defensive Player of the Week for a fifth time this season.  Rasmussen had a total of 33 digs in a pair of Coyote sweeps over Oral Roberts and North Dakota.  USD has won 18 consecutive matches heading into a Friday night contest at Omaha.

USD men’s basketball head coach Todd Lee will be the guest speaker at today’s meeting of the Yankton Quarterback Club at JoDean’s during the noon hour.  Lee is starting his second season as head coach of the Coyotes.

The Yankton Gazelles volleyball squad swept the Tea Area Titans last night by scores of 25-29, 25-18 and 25-22.  Jordynn Salvatori led Yankton with 13 kills and Camille McDermott recorded 28 assists. The Gazelles are now 5 and 20 overall with matches at Roosevelt and O’Gorman next week to end the regular season.

The state champion Yankton Gazelles had five selections on the Class Double-A all-state Girls Soccer team.  Yankton seniors Sadie Fedders, Jaiden Boomsma and Payton Wolfgram were named first team all-state and seniors Kelsey Oswald and Madison Wuebben received second team honors.  Yankton junior Christian Budig was named second-team all-state for Boys Soccer.
