Sioux Falls O’Gorman beat Yankton 7-2 in girls tennis on Tuesday. The Gazelles got victories from Josie Krajewski and Maggie Schaefer as they are now 11 and 3 on the season.
Third-ranked Sioux Falls Washington swept Yankton in volleyball last night by scores of 25-19, 25-10 and 25-12, keeping the Gazelles winless in nine matches this season.
Yankton beat Brookings 7-0 in softball last night as Lexi Madson fired a shutout for the Gazelles. Brookings rallied to win the nightcap 4-3.
Bethel College blanked Mount Marty 4-0 in men’s soccer last night in Kansas, as the Lancer men now stand at 2-2 on the season.
University of South Dakota junior Abby Ripperda was named the Summit League Women’s Cross-Country Athlete of the Week. In volleyball news, U-S-D sophomore setter Madison Jurgens was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week in the Summit League and Coyote sophomore Maddie Wiedenfeld was chosen as the League’s Defensive Player of the Week.
