YSD Opt-Out?

With their eyes on a property tax-opt out at some point in the not too distant future, yesterday the Yankton School Board gave its’ approval to the 2019-2020 budget.

Superintendent Wayne Kindle says in order for the Yankton School District to carry out the public’s direction to continue to move forward more funding will be needed.

Kindle says the school district continues to spend money of out their reserves to make up for budget deficits.

Kindle says there is no definite timeline but an opt-out attempt may come as soon as this school year.
