FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers Closing

FEMA officials have announced plans to close their disaster recovery centers in Yankton and Sioux Falls this weekend.

More than two hundred fifty residents have been helped at the centers since they opened and Media Relations Specialist Pam Saulsby says with declining numbers of people seeking assistance it’s time to close their doors.

Saulsby says the disaster assistance program has played a role in helping people begin to recover after suffering damages due to March’s flooding.

People who still need to register may still do so after the centers close by calling 1-800-621-3362  or online at the FEMA site until August 6th  2019.
