Mount Marty College has announced that Athletic Director Chris Kassin will assume the head coaching duties of the Lancer Men’s Basketball program.  Kassin will maintain dual roles as both Athletic Director and Men’s Head Coach moving forward.  He succeeds Cody Schilling, who resigned in March after two seasons guiding the Lancers.  Kassin served as a U-S-D assistant men’s basketball coach to Dave Boots for ten seasons with the Coyotes.  Current Mount Marty men’s assistant Dan Tharp will be promoted to Associate Head Coach in this transition.

Concordia swept Mount Marty in G-PAC tennis on Friday, winning the men’s match 9-0 and beating the Lancers 8-1 in the women’s contest.  The Mount Marty women will host the College of St. Mary on Sunday, and then the Lancer teams will finish their regular season Tuesday with a doubleheader at Morningside.

The Mount Marty baseball team returns to action this weekend in a pair of G-PAC doubleheaders at Briar Cliff.  The Lancers are tied for eighth place in conference play and are 15 and 16 overall, while the Charges are third in the G-PAC and have a 20 and 15 season record.

The South Dakota softball squad will host North Dakota in three Summit League games this weekend.  The Coyotes are 8 and 1 in the league, while North Dakota is 4 and 2 in the Summit this spring.

USD will host North Dakota in women’s tennis this evening.  The match has been moved to the indoor courts in Sioux Falls starting at 6 p-m.

The Yankton boys tennis team will host Harrisburg in a dual meet on Monday afternoon, and that match has been moved indoors to the courts at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Complex.

The Yankton High School track and field athletes will compete Tuesday in a meet at Dakota Valley High School in North Sioux City.  The meet is hosted by Tea at North Sioux City with the field events starting at 3:30 and the track events at 4:00.  The meet previously scheduled that day at O’Gorman has been cancelled.
