The Yankton Bucks baseball squad is 3 and 4 overall and their three scheduled games this weekend in Rapid City have all been cancelled.

The Yankton Gazelles won 11 events last night in a track and field triangular at Mitchell with the Kernels and Brandon Valley.  Jaiden Boomsma and Sadie Fedders each won two events, the Yankton girls were first in four relays and the Bucks won two relay events.  Yankton returns to Mitchell on Saturday to compete in the Corn Palace Relays.

Mount Marty junior Rylee Denomy has been named the G-PAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.  Denomy posted two wins last week and is 5 and 2 on the season for the Lancers with a 3.48 ERA.  Mount Marty is in a fourth-place tie in the conference with an 8 and 6 record and is 17 and 17 overall this season.

The Mount Marty men’s golf team competed at the Raider Open in northwest Iowa on Tuesday.  Senior Joe Brinkman led the Lancers with a 70, while junior Sully Lewis shot a career best round of 81.

The USD women’s golf team finished in a fourth-place tie in Missouri, as senior Lexi Peterson took fourth place for the Coyotes with a three-round total of 221.  In the 15-team Missouri Tiger Invitational for men’s golf, USD tied for ninth place and South Dakota State finished in 13th.

The University of South Dakota has hired Mike West as their new Deputy Athletic Director.  West has college degrees from Nebraska-Omaha and Wayne State, and he served as Director of Marketing at Creighton University for 11 years.
