Water Releases Increased at Gavins Point Dam

Water releases at Gavins Point Dam have been increased to 50,000 cfs with more water expected to be let out Friday.  The Corps of Engineers says runoff into the drainage area between Fort Randall and Gavins Point Dam is very high and continues to increase due to rapid snow melt and heavy rains.  Releases at Fort Randall were cut to zero.  John Remus, Chief of the Missouri River Water Management Division says the Corps will attempt to mitigate the impact of downstream water levels as much as possible.
