Johnson Bridge Repair Project Given Green Light

At a special meeting Tuesday morning the Yankton County Commission received positive news regarding the repair project on Johnson Bridge over the James River northeast of Yankton.

The bridge is closed due to structural issues and Chairman Todd Woods says estimates on the repairs’ cost are much lower than was expected and will be covered by grant funding.

Woods says the citizens that have contacted him have expressed understanding regarding the need for the closure.

Woods says repairs to the Johnson Bridge are expected to get underway November 1st.
