This is the seventh year for Extreme Bullriding in Yankton, but the first year the Rodeo Grounds are at their new location.
Coordinator Doug Hevle says they are close to having everything set up at their grounds just south of the Chamber of Commerce building, and the lights should be installed next week.
Hevle says the new location east of Riverside Park should draw more people who are enjoying the Riverboat Days festivities, there’s plenty of parking, and people in the stands won’t have to stare into the sun to watch the action.
Hevle says this is the 30th year there has been a rodeo or bullriding in Yankton during the summer, and he says at least 38 cowboys have already signed up for the event. The Extreme Bullriding show begins at 7:30 p-m on Saturday, August 18 during Riverboat Days festivities.
