The Yankton Bucks club baseball team scored six runs in the fourth inning to defeat Mitchell 8-2 last night at Riverside Field.  Kieran Luellman fired a complete game four-hitter and still has not allowed an earned run in 32 innings on the mound this spring for Yankton.  Caid Koletzky led the offense with three hits and four RBI’s as the Bucks moved to 8 and 7 overall, and Yankton is scheduled to host Sioux Falls Roosevelt in a doubleheader this afternoon.

The Yankton Gazelles are expected to battle Brandon Valley for the E-S-D Conference Track and Field Championship this afternoon.  The Bucks are looking for a top five finish as well in the meet being held today at the track in Pierre.

The Yankton Gazelles golf team shot a 354 total and placed third among 16 teams at the Mitchell Invitational on Friday.  Yankton sophomore Morgan Strahl carded an 80 to place second out of 92 golfers in the meet, while Gazelles sophomore Peyton Tramp tied for 20th place with a 92.

The Great Plains Athletic Conference announced their All-Conference Men’s and Women’s Golf selections on Friday.  Mount Marty junior Joe Brinkman took fifth place in the conference meet and was named All-Conference, while Lancer sophomore Molly Koisti (koy-stee) was chosen to the G-PAC Women’s All-Conference team.

Kyle Repp of Yankton notched his third career hole-in-one on Thursday at Hillcrest Country Club.  Repp used an eight-iron for the ace on the 16th hole at Hillcrest.

After two days of the Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Tulsa, North Dakota State leads both the women’s and men’s divisions with U-S-D second and S-D-S-U third in each category.  Coyote sophomore Zack Anderson of Parker jumped seven feet to win the men’s high jump, and junior Ben Hammer launched the discus over 196 feet to win the event with a league meet record.  The Summit League championship wraps up today in Oklahoma.

South Dakota State has advanced to their first Summit League championship final, and this afternoon the Jacks will face North Dakota State in Fargo for the title.
